Chakapa is a traditional attribute of shamanic practices, widely used by the peoples of Peru, Ecuador and Brazil, especially in the traditions of the Quechua and Shipibo tribes.

Chakapa is a special fan made of leaves (from palm, bamboo leaves and from the Amazonian plant chacapa), tied into a bundle. It is used by shamans (curanderos, ayahuasqueros) during healing ceremonies.

Our Chakapa was created by shamans from the Shipibo Conibo tribes, Peru.

Description

How to use the Chakapa:

Sound work: When the shaman shakes or waves the chakapa, the leaves create a soft rustling sound. This sound is considered cleansing and healing. It helps a person to relax, enter a deep state of trance or meditation.

Energy cleansing: The shaman fans the chakapa over a person's aura or body, removing heavy energy.

The chakapa can be used with icaros (shamanic songs). The rustling of the leaves maintains the rhythm and increases the vibration of the song.
It is believed that with the chakapa, the shaman can direct healing currents or plant spirits to a specific person.
